Date: Thursday 7 June 2007

Time: 7.30pm -

Location: Cherry Hinton Infant School (click for map)

What is Fight Nite?

Fight Nite is a new once a month training session for adult club members only. These sessions will be held on the first Thursday of every month.

Each session will focus on the following:

  • Improving levels of stamina and fitness
  • Self defense
  • Awareness of distance and timing
  • Bagwork
  • Focus-mitt practice
  • Free sparring Kumite
  • Competition Kumite

Who and what is Fight Nite for?

These special sessions are for ANY adult member of BKA, regardless of grade.

The reasoning behind developing these sessions is so that members can learn more about how Karate can be applied in a combative or self defense situation.

By working on strength, co-ordination and timing, senior students will be able to develop their basic Karate techniques to fuller fighting and defensive effectiveness. This will be coupled with putting together effective "on the fly" combinations and learning more advanced grappling methods.

Please note...

These special sessions will be run on a "no-grade" basis (just like an open Kumite tournament). There will be special belts for each student to wear during the session. These belts are available at a cost of £4.00.
